Course Overview

Officially, the commonly used name ‘PAT Testing’ or ‘Portable Appliance Testing’ doesn’t exist.  The correct name has always been ‘In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment’.

To ensure your staff and premises are safe from electrical hazards, it is recommended you get your electrical equipment inspected and tested on a regular basis, based on risk assessment.

Our ‘PAT Testing’ Training Courses are designed to enable you to carry out inspections and electrical tests, to the relevant industry standards, while controlling the cost and quality of this ongoing and important process.

What You'll Learn?

  • Carry out 'PAT Testing' to the latest industry standard without having to attend a training centre.
  • Familiarise yourself with the latest guidelines.
  • Take control of your company's 'PAT Testing' quality and cost.
  • This course is aimed at people who have attended a practical 'PAT Testing' training course.
  • Ensure you are 'PAT Testing' in line with the latest Code of Practice.
  • Identify and fix any bad habits you have picked up over the years.
  • You will need a good level of English and mathematics.
  • Physical principals will be discussed, so an understanding of electrical terminology will be an advantage.
  • You will need somewhere quiet where you won't be disturbed.
  • You may want to take notes, so a pen, paper and calculator may help.
  • If you have a 'PAT Test' device... bring it to refer to.
  • A Class I item, a Class I extension lead and a Class II item would help with the practical aspects of the course.
